Alice and her family ran away from Moscow hurriedly. They settled down in a small American town, Arcata, California, hoping to finally find peace. And, for a while, they did. The town was quiet and rather friendly. Everyone seemed to know each other.
Years after arriving, the problems with kidnapping emerged again. Nothing like this ever happened in such a small town. Everyone became a suspect.
But it doesn’t end here. One night, Alice’s father never came home. The police couldn’t do anything; there were no clues, no witnesses, nothing. He just vanished.
Who was after Alice and her family? What did they want? Will they stop now?

[[START.->THE MOONLIGHT SLICES THROUGH THE WINDOW ..]]He enjoys the small space of his apartment, one he has worked hard to make his own. He likes it for the comforting silence it brings and, at that moment, he was even more thankful for the isolated and quiet neighborhood. He bites his lip to stop his panting, trying not to give away his position. It wasn’t his first kidnapping. He knows what to do.
The ominous silence is followed by the smash of glass. The night promises to be long.
[[NEXT.->MORNING AFTER]]The crime scene is surrounded with spectators by the time the police arrive, even this early in the morning. People line the small neighborhood, packed so tightly I can't believe they're able to breathe, let alone wade through the crowd to satisfy their curiosity.
[[KEEP MOVING ?]]
[[TRY TO FIGHT FOR SPACE IN THE CROWD ?]]I try not to stay for long, considering the history I have with kidnappings. The police still have no idea what happened to my father. It wasn’t the first case in this town and I’m sure it won’t be the last.I let out a heavy sigh, trying to move a little further into the crowd. The scene itself makes me nervous, considering the history I have with kidnappings. I try not to think about it.
But it was far too crowded for anybody to even get through, so I leave before someone steps on my foot.
